Have you considered shrink wrapping your boat over the winter?
Not only will you no longer need to buy and maintain a winter cover for your boat, but you won’t have to find somewhere to store the cover when not in use. You’ll be recycling too!
Shrink wrapping is actually a pretty simple process, which basically entails covering your boat with a marine grade white plastic film that’s heat shrunk using a hand held hot air gun. This creates a tight fitting, moulded covering that cannot flap or chafe the boat in high winds.
The covers are normally fitted with weatherproof vents to eliminate any trapped moisture and a zipped door to allow access to the boat.
With the shrink wrap available in widths from 5 to 12 metres and over 30 metres in length, boats up to 20 metres can usually be covered with one piece of wrap. Once the cover is no longer required it’s easily removed and disposed of for recycling.
