Tufcoat has seen an increase in the amount of residential repair projects over the last year. As a continuation of this theme, we worked with JEM Scaffolding to provide a weatherproof shrink wrap shelter for works taking place to a block of flats on Union Street, Plymouth.

The building was subject to a severe fire in early 2015, and required major refurbishment to repair the damage caused.

Union Street Scaffold Shrink Wrap

Approximately 240m² of our 300µm flame retardant shrink wrap was used to encapsulate the side elevations of the scaffolding around the building as part of a full installation service. Shrink wrap worked in tandem with a tin sheeting roof to provide a weatherproof internal environment around the exposed roof section of the building.

Shrink wrap will reduce delays to the repair project’s schedule by preventing downtime from adverse weather, and will allow the necessary works to take place unaffected.

As of May 2015 the shrink wrap is still in use, and contributing to the successful completion of the project.
