Tufcoat have shown innovative methods of ensuring we always match our customer’s service expectations.
This was demonstrated through the Airbus Shrink Wrap training courses Tufcoat delivered to workers as part of the A380 wing set projects.
Since the first brief from Airbus in 2005 Tufcoat have delivered training sessions designed specifically for the A380 wing program. After successful completion of the course, employees were certified from Tufcoat having demonstrated their capabilities to shrink wrap the wings.
The training sessions were initially held intensively to ensure the required Airbus employees were trained to competently carry out the shrink wrap procedure. These were then delivered as and when required either for new employees or as part of refresher sessions to ensure existing workers maintained the standards required.
In 2010 Airbus began focusing on their core operations and subsequently outsourced the wing shrink wrap program to one of their logistics partners, Kuehne + Nagel. Tufcoat were required to deliver training and provide ongoing support and inspections of the operations until Airbus were fully satisfied that the transition was complete.
Airbus’s continued business over a 9 year working relationship is testament to the continued level of quality delivered by Tufcoat. Whilst overseeing the production of an A380 aircraft, Paul Mackenzie the overseas manager said:
“it’s a credit to everyone who has contributed to the project, the determination and commitment to get the product to this stage”.
Our ethos to go above and beyond from standard approaches to projects has allowed us to provide a service that exceeds customer expectation, which is shown by our willingness to readily adapt to different requirements. This belief has laid the foundations of our success during our first decade in business, and will continue to be a value we build upon in the future.
